Tatami
Heads to U.S. Theatres Following Major Rights Deal
Following its acclaimed festival run, Tatami, co-directed by Zar Amir and Guy Nattiv, begins its U.S. theatrical tour this summer, distributed by XYZ Films.
After premiering at the 80th Venice International Film Festival, the film continues its global journey with screenings opening in New York on June 13, Los Angeles on June 20, and nationwide on June 27, 2025.
Shot in black and white and spoken in both Farsi and Hebrew, Tatami tells the story of an Iranian judo champion torn between loyalty to her country and personal integrity during an international competition. The film has been praised for its restrained tension and emotional power.
